Brewing Tips

Grind whole beans fresh, just prior to brewing; and if possible use a burr grinder.

French press : Course

Filter Brew : Medium

Espresso : Fine

Fine French press / Filter Brew :

16:1 water-to-coffee ratio

Single Espresso: 8-10 grams

Double Espresso: 16-20 grams

For the best coffee, always use fresh, clean water. Filtered or bottled drinking water is great.

To extract the best flavours from your coffee, ensure that your boiled water has cooled to 95°-96°C (203°-205°) before brewing.

French press / Filter Brew :

3-5 minutes

Espresso: 20-30 seconds.

Let the coffee cool a bit before drinking it! As the coffee cools, its flavours, sweetness, acidity, and body will become more complex and nuanced.

It’s important to note that while coffee can have health benefits, it can also have negative effects on some people, such as increasing anxiety or interfering with sleep. Additionally, adding sugar or cream to coffee can negate some of the potential health benefits. As with most things, moderation is key when it comes to coffee consumption.
